Greg & Maja’s | Olijvenkraal Wedding Venue

The sound of a saxophone drifting across the olive groves, the warmth of the sun on a perfect Cape Winelands afternoon, and the laughter of friends and family — that’s how Greg and Maja’s wedding at Olijvenkraal began. As a wedding photographer in the Cape Winelands, I knew this day would be a mix of elegance, music, and relaxed joy. And Olijvenkraal, with its vineyards and ancient olive trees, delivered the perfect stage for their celebration.

From the very start, there was a buzz in the air. Greg and Maja are the kind of couple who naturally bring people together — their easygoing personalities and deep connection made every part of the day feel effortless. Guests mingled under the trees, enjoying wine and good conversation, while the sax player added a romantic, almost cinematic, soundtrack to the afternoon.

Olijvenkraal is one of those rare venues that blends rustic textures with refined beauty. The sprawling vineyards catch the afternoon light just right, while the olive groves create intimate, shaded spots perfect for portraits. For me as a photographer, the changing scenery throughout the day kept the images vibrant and full of variety.

As the sun began to dip, I took Greg and Maja for a quiet walk between the olive trees and into the vineyard. That warm, late-afternoon glow lit up the rows of vines, creating some of my favourite images of the year. They laughed, whispered, and simply enjoyed the moment — no posing, no fuss, just two people in love.

Greg and Maja’s wedding was a reminder of why I love what I do — every couple, every venue, and every celebration has its own story. If you’re planning your wedding at Olijvenkraal and want a photographer who will capture the emotion, the details, and the atmosphere of your day, I’d love to chat.
