Your wedding should feel like a celebration, not a photoshoot.

Finding the right wedding photographer in Cape Town isn't just about finding someone whose photographs you love. It's about finding someone you feel comfortable having around on one of the most personal days of your life.

After photographing more than 500 weddings over the past 17 years, I've learned that the photographs people treasure most aren't always the perfectly posed ones.

They're often the photographs of people laughing uncontrollably, parents trying not to cry, grandparents sharing a quiet moment, and friends celebrating together.

That's where my focus is for most of the day. I observe, anticipate and photograph things naturally without constantly directing everyone.

Of course, we'll also make time for some beautiful couple portraits. I'll help with flattering light and natural direction, making sure you're not spending your wedding day away from the people you invited.

Whether you're planning a wedding in Cape Town, Stellenbosch, Franschhoek or elsewhere in the Western Cape, I want the experience to be as good as the photographs themselves.

You don't need to be comfortable posing. I'll find the best light and give you gentle direction to make your portraits beautiful without making things awkward.

I'm Kobus.

I'm a wedding photographer and filmmaker with 17 years of experience and more than 500 weddings behind me.

And although I've spent most of my professional life working at weddings, I still believe that every wedding has its own story.

My job is to make you comfortable, help when it's needed, and photograph the things that really matter.

I want you to enjoy your wedding without feeling like you have to perform for the camera.

Meet Timothy.

I've known Timothy for 14 years, and for the past five he's been responsible for our wedding films.

While I photograph your wedding and personally edit the photographs, Timothy films the day and edits the wedding videos. We each have our own role, and we work together quietly so you can enjoy your wedding without feeling like it's a production.

Photography and film can be booked together, or you can choose photography-only or video-only coverage.

How much does a wedding photographer cost in Cape Town?

Wedding photography prices in Cape Town depend on the photographer's experience, hours of coverage and what's included. I offer full-day wedding photography and photography-and-film collections. Once I know your date and venue, I can share the relevant options.

How far in advance should we book?

Popular wedding dates in Cape Town and the Winelands often fill well in advance. I recommend getting in touch as soon as your date and venue are confirmed.

Do you photograph weddings in Stellenbosch and Franschhoek?

Yes. I photograph weddings across Cape Town, Stellenbosch, Franschhoek, Paarl, Somerset West and the wider Western Cape, as well as destination weddings throughout South Africa and internationally.

Do you offer wedding photography and videography together?

Absolutely. Timothy and I offer wedding photography and film together. Photography-only and videography-only options are also available.

How many wedding photographs will we receive?

A typical full-day wedding gallery includes approximately 600 edited photographs, depending on the events and coverage of your day.

Will you help us with our wedding portraits?

Of course. I provide gentle guidance for couple portraits and help organise family photographs. The rest of the day is photographed as naturally and unobtrusively as possible.

Do you travel outside Cape Town?

Yes. I photograph weddings throughout South Africa and internationally. Travel and accommodation requirements depend on the wedding venue and are discussed in your proposal.
