Why film matters

Photographs let you see it again. Film lets you hear it again.

The approach

A story, not a sequence of clips.

01

The film should feel like your wedding.

I am not interested in forcing every wedding into the same edit. The pace, voices, music and atmosphere should come from the day itself and from the people at the centre of it.

02

Natural sound matters.

Vows, speeches, laughter and the voices of the people you love are often the parts of a wedding film that become more valuable with time.

03

Coverage stays unobtrusive.

The purpose of having a wedding videographer is not to turn the celebration into a film set. We work quietly, step in when it helps and leave real moments alone when they are already there.

04

Photography and film work together.

When both are covered by one team, there is no competition for the same moment. The photography and film can share the same calm approach and tell the same story in two different ways.

Featured wedding films

Real weddings. Real voices. Real atmosphere.

01 / Wedding film

Trives & Saarty

Belair Pavilion · Paarl

Their Belair Pavilion wedding brought together the gardens, mountains and unmistakable energy of the Cape Winelands, but the film is really about everything happening between the beautiful settings: the reactions, laughter, emotion and people around them.

It is exactly what I want a wedding film to do — bring you back to what the day felt like rather than simply showing you what it looked like.

02 / Wedding film

Richard & Lauren

Plaisir · Franschhoek

Richard and Lauren's wedding at Plaisir was relaxed, elegant and full of genuine moments. The vineyards and mountains gave the film its setting, while the people, voices and emotion gave it its story.

Their film moves between the quiet parts of the day and the energy that followed, without turning either into something over-produced.

03 / Wedding film

Diaan & Andrea

Olive Rock · Wolseley

Diaan and Andrea's Olive Rock wedding had an effortless rhythm to it: beautiful surroundings, classic styling and a day that never needed to be forced into something it was not.

The film is built around presence and connection — the quiet exchanges, movement and emotion that happen naturally when people are allowed to enjoy their own wedding.

04 / Wedding film

Christiaan & Maret

Laurent · Somerset West

Stylish without feeling overworked, their Laurent wedding brought together architecture, gardens, mountain surroundings and a room full of people who were completely invested in the celebration.

The finished film holds onto both sides of that day: the considered visual detail and the warmth underneath it.

05 / Wedding film

Conrad & Tarine

Murasie · Overberg

Open landscapes, golden light and a celebration full of warmth made Conrad and Tarine's Murasie wedding naturally cinematic before a camera ever arrived.

The film follows that atmosphere from the quieter early moments into a lively evening, keeping the emotional centre of the day intact.

06 / Wedding film

Jannik & Mia

Joubertsdal · Swellendam

Jannik and Mia celebrated at Joubertsdal among mountains and open farmland outside Swellendam. It was relaxed country character with refined detail and a great deal of genuine emotion.

Their film moves through vows, laughter, quiet moments and the celebration around them — all the pieces that make a wedding feel alive rather than simply beautiful.

07 / Wedding film

Louis & Hannah

Cavalli Estate · Somerset West

Cavalli gave Louis and Hannah an extraordinary Cape Winelands setting, but what carries the film is the movement between the quieter moments and the energy of the people celebrating with them.

Beautiful scenery matters. The reason to make the film is everything happening inside it.

Quiet coverage

The camera should not become the event.

A wedding film needs access to real moments, but that does not mean manufacturing them. I work closely enough to catch the voices, reactions and movement while giving the wedding enough space to remain a wedding.

That is especially important when photography and film are being created together. One team, one approach and no competing directions.

Film

The moments you can hear again.

Movement, voices, vows, speeches, laughter and energy. Film adds the parts of a wedding that a still photograph cannot contain and gives you another way back into the day.

Wedding film FAQ

A few things couples usually ask.

Do you work as a Cape Town wedding videographer throughout the Western Cape?

Yes. I film weddings throughout Cape Town and the Western Cape, including Stellenbosch, Franschhoek, Paarl, Wellington, Somerset West and the Overberg, and I travel elsewhere in South Africa and abroad for destination weddings.

Can we book both wedding photography and videography?

Yes. Photography and film can be covered together by one team, so the two parts of the day work around each other rather than competing for the same time or moment.

Will the wedding film feel heavily staged?

No. I will give direction when it genuinely helps, especially during portraits, but the film is built around what actually happens: real voices, reactions, movement and the atmosphere of the day.

What style of wedding film do you create?

Some couples prefer a more music-led film while others want a story-driven edit shaped around vows, speeches and natural sound. We can talk through the options and choose the approach that fits the way you want to remember your wedding.

Do you also capture full speeches and the full ceremony?

Full ceremony and full speech coverage can be discussed as part of the film collection, alongside the main cinematic wedding film.
