Namibia wedding photographer.

Considered wedding photography and film for couples choosing one of the most extraordinary landscapes on earth for the day they get married.

The landscape

Namibia gives you space, silence and light on a scale very few places can match. You don't need to compete with it.

Why Namibia

This country was part of my photography long before weddings were.

I started out photographing landscapes, and Namibia is one of those places that keeps pulling me back: the dunes, the light, the scale and the remarkable quiet of it.

That landscape background still influences the way I photograph weddings. I pay attention to where the light is moving, what the weather is doing and how two people sit within a place rather than simply putting them in front of it.

Whether you're planning an intimate desert elopement, a wedding near Sossusvlei, a celebration in Swakopmund or bringing family together in Windhoek, the aim remains the same: beautiful work without making the day feel like a production.

Where I photograph

Weddings and elopements throughout Namibia.

01 / Sossusvlei

Sossusvlei + Deadvlei

The great dunes, white clay pans and some of Namibia's most recognisable landscapes. Extraordinary for intimate weddings, elopements and portraits around first or last light.

02 / Coast

Swakopmund + Atlantic coast

Cooler light, Atlantic fog, desert meeting ocean and an entirely different visual character from the interior. Particularly good for celebrations where guests are gathering for a full weekend.

03 / Central

Windhoek

Accessible for families and guests, with venues in and around the city and easy connections into the rest of Namibia for portrait sessions or extended wedding coverage.

04 / North

Etosha + private reserves

Wide, open country for couples who want the landscape and wildlife environment to become part of the wedding experience without turning the photographs into a travel brochure.

05 / South

Fish River Canyon + the south

Vast, dramatic terrain and long travelling distances that reward good planning. Ideal for couples drawn to something remote and genuinely different.

06 / Anywhere

Lodge, farm or somewhere off the map.

If you've found a place that matters to you, tell me where it is. Namibia is not a country where your wedding needs to fit inside a short list of conventional venues.

The experience

Your Namibia wedding should never feel like a photoshoot.

01

You won't be left wondering what to do.

Most couples aren't used to being photographed. I'll give you direction when it helps, make adjustments when a portrait needs them, and stop directing when the moment is already doing the work for us.

02

The people who travelled with you matter.

Destination weddings often bring a smaller group of people together very intentionally. Parents, friends, conversations, reactions and the atmosphere around you remain a major part of what I photograph.

03

Travel and logistics are part of my job.

Namibia involves distance, changing light, remote locations and sometimes very little margin for improvisation. Preparation means those details don't have to become your stress on the wedding day.

Behind the camera

I'm Kobus.

I'm based in South Africa and have spent seventeen years photographing weddings. Namibia is close enough to feel familiar and different enough that I never stop being struck by it.

I've photographed more than 450 weddings, and the experience matters most in the things couples rarely see: knowing where to stand, reading the room, finding light quickly, keeping people calm and recognising when a moment needs help — and when it needs absolutely nothing from me.

Good to know

A few Namibia wedding questions.

Are you based in Namibia?

No. I'm based in South Africa and travel to Namibia for weddings and elopements. Travel is planned around your location and included clearly in your individual quotation.

Do you photograph weddings throughout Namibia?

Yes. Sossusvlei, Swakopmund, Windhoek, Etosha, the south, private reserves and more remote locations are all possible.

Do you photograph elopements and very small weddings?

Absolutely. Namibia suits intimate weddings particularly well. A small guest list — or simply the two of you — allows the location and experience to become a much bigger part of the day.

Can you help us think through locations and timing?

Yes. My landscape photography background is especially useful here. Light, travel time, sun position and access can make a substantial difference in Namibia, and I'm happy to work through those decisions with you.

What does a Namibia wedding cost?

Full-day photography and film collections currently start at $4,250 and typically extend to around $7,300. Travel is additional and depends on the exact wedding location and logistics.
