WEDDINGS & ELOPEMENTS ACROSS NAMIBIA

Namibia Wedding Photographer

Desert weddings, coastal celebrations and quiet elopements, photographed calmly, and captured as they actually happen.

There are few places
that feel like Namibia

There's a particular quiet in Namibia. You feel it standing in the dunes before sunrise, or watching the last colour leave the sky over the desert.

It's one of the most remarkable places I've ever photographed two people in love, and if you're planning to marry here, I'd be glad to be the one behind the camera.

I'm Kobus. I started out as a landscape photographer, and Namibia is one of the places that made me fall for it, the dunes, the light, the sheer scale of it. I keep finding reasons to go back. These days I photograph weddings, and that landscape eye never left me. Whether it's an intimate elopement in the desert, a celebration in Swakopmund, or family gathered together in Windhoek, my role stays the same: keep you relaxed, guide you gently when you need it, and quietly photograph the day as it really unfolds.

THE LANDSCAPE

A landscape that does half the work

Namibia gives you something no studio ever could, space, silence, and light that changes by the minute. The apricot dunes of Sossusvlei. The white clay and ancient trees of Deadvlei. The cool Atlantic fog rolling into Swakopmund. You don't need to perform for photographs here. You simply stand in it, together, and the place holds the rest.

That suits the way I work. Before I photographed weddings I photographed landscapes, and Namibia is a country I've returned to again and again for exactly this, so I know how to read its light and where it's at its most beautiful. On your day, I'll give you a little gentle direction, then step back and let the two of you, and this extraordinary country, be exactly what they are.

WHERE I PHOTOGRAPH

Weddings and elopements
throughout Namibia

I travel for destination weddings, and I'm happy to go wherever your day takes us. A few of the places I'd love to photograph you:

THE EXPERIENCE

Your wedding should never feel like a photoshoot

Most of the couples I photograph tell me the same thing early on: "we're a bit awkward in front of a camera." Nearly all of them end up saying the photography was one of the parts of the day they enjoyed most.

That's the whole idea. My job isn't only to take good photographs, it's to make the day feel calm and easy while I do it. I notice the moments that matter: a parent's face, a quiet laugh, the people who came a long way to be there. I tend to see small problems coming and sort them out before they ever reach you. And I never leave you wondering what to do.

The photographs are lovely because the day felt good. Not the other way around.

A LITTLE ABOUT ME

Seventeen years,
and still learning

I've photographed more than 450 weddings across South Africa and further afield. That experience shows up in ways that are hard to put in a portfolio — knowing where to stand, reading a room, staying calm when timelines slip, and finding good light almost anywhere.

I'm based in South Africa, and Namibia is a country I keep coming back to — first as a landscape photographer, and now for weddings too. I'd return for another in a heartbeat. If you're planning a wedding or elopement there, I'll happily talk through the logistics with you — travel, timing, locations — so it feels straightforward rather than daunting.

PRICING

An honest note
on cost

Namibia wedding collections start at around $4,250 and typically range up to $7,300, depending on how much of the day you'd like me there for.

Travel and related costs sit on top of that, worked out separately once we know where you're headed, always laid out clearly and upfront.
